Evan Baum (McIntire '15)

Principal, Ares Management Corporation

Evan Baum is a Principal at Ares Management, a publicly traded alternative investment manager. Baum is responsible for executing new investments on behalf of Ares Real Estate's core-plus, value-add, and opportunistic vehicles across all asset classes and in a variety of structures, including joint venture equity, preferred equity, distressed debt, and platform investments.

Prior to joining Ares in 2018, Baum was a member of the Acquisitions team at Allianz Real Estate, where he focused on analyzing joint venture and fund investments. Previously, Baum was a Real Estate Investment Banking Analyst at RBC Capital Markets, where he focused on analyzing real estate mergers and acquisitions and capital markets transactions.

Baum holds a B.S. from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia, with focuses on Finance, Management, and Real Estate. While at UVA, Baum was active in St. Elmo Hall, UVA Men's Club Soccer, and Class Trustees. Since graduation, he has served as Co-Chair of Fundraising for the McIntire Young Alumni Council and has been active in University of Virginia Alumni in Real Estate. Baum grew up in Northern New Jersey and currently lives in New York City.
